"For the people of forced migration of African descent living across the Americas, Sunday is coveted. Since, it remains one of the only times in the week when most families indulge in varieties of fresh produce for preparing intricate mouthfuls of shared traditions with loved ones"
- Jacqueline Dwyer, Toronto Black Farmers

Afro Caribbean Farmers' Market

The Afro Caribbean Farmers Market in partnership with the York-Eglinton BIA, and Toronto City Councilor Josh Matlow, is a unique farmers' market in Toronto that offers clean, culturally appropriate fruits and vegetables from the Caribbean islands and continental African countries, along with a healthy mix of clean produce grown by our local urban farmers from the diaspora. Tasty baked goods, fresh bread, juices, delicious preserves, sauces and other artisan delights makes this market like no other!

Our market is pleased to be part of the newly appointed ‘Little Jamaica-Afro Caribbean Cultural District,’ a soon to be vibrant and distinct cultural hub in the city of Toronto. The Afro Caribbean Farmers’ Market wishes to plant its roots in the heart of this new district, a place that has been heavily impacted by the Metrolinx / Crosstown extension.

We know our market will serve as a Sunday bi-monthly hotspot that will animate and add a new sense of value to this part of the city.
